About Brooke
Brooke English, LCSW, RYT
I am a licensed psychotherapist and registered yoga teacher practicing via telehealth with clients in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida. I have 15 years of experience integrating psychotherapeutic and yogic modalities to manage emotional, mental, and spiritual disruptions. My training has been focused on trauma and using somatic techniques to address core emotions lodged in the body.
I received a Masters in social work from The Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College with a particular focus on domestic violence and intimate partner violence, sexual trauma, and treating the long-term effects of trauma. I continued focusing on the mind-body-spirit connection and have since completed multiple 200-hour yoga teacher trainings, multiple trainings focusing on addressing trauma using yogic theory and techniques, and lived within a community immersed in studying meditation and healing practices. To best serve my clients, I continue to stay up to date with the current developments in evidence-based research regarding psychodynamic and body-based therapeutic modalities.
Bringing healing modalities to those struggling with emotional difficulties is my life’s calling. I believe in the therapeutic process and know from years of personal and professional experience, that consistent practice with an attuned therapist can yield positive results.
